Go West Young Man ( and Woman)
8 hours of almost solid driving and here we are in the West of England, and we’ve pitched up in a brewery Town, – St. Austell in Cornwall. Wondered what we might do, around here but at least one afternoon will now be occupied if not two …
Today is Tuesday, and the Cornish sun is shining, no pasties, cream teas nor ice cream, but we did manage a Cornish beer and a Somerset cider. The coast is enchanting , little coves, big beaches, all approached through narrow lanes making each discovery even more special. Staring with a run for Stella at Par Beach, up to Charlestown,, down to Mevagissy, and ending up cooking lunch in the car park at Gorran Haven, a delightful harbour. So back to the Double Trees Campsite, which has stunning views over Par and St Austell bay, for a sundowner, and well deserved break.
