Gulls

Gulls,

Trying to identify seagulls – Arrh…

I think a gull gets up in the morning, and decides, what shall I wear today?

Should I put on the black cap, or the white cap. I’ll try the yellow beak with the yellow contact lenses. Yesterday it was the black beak with the same contact lenses, last week I had the dark natural eyes. I like lipstick, I’ll put that little smudge of red just below the beak , I like that look, but it is very common, and I blend in with the other gulls. Squawking of beaks, the thin look or the stubby one today? Does the stubbly beak go with the slender wings, hmm…

And my socks, shall I wear the yellow ones, or the black ones, maybe the grey ones from last year.

Today I want to look younger; I’ll wear speckled grey, tomorrow I’ll go for the black and white contrasts, makes me look a little more mature.

Shall I join the flock today, or maybe just have a fly-away-me-day, or maybe just the two of us bobbing around in the harbour for a confusing change.

Who knows, I’m a gull, not any old bird, I’m a master of disguise, can morph seamlessly from one identity  to another, always keeping you on your toes. Maybe I’m a double agent?  Whatever my identity crisis is, I am me, and no-one will really be sure what that is, just call me a Gull.
