Keeping it Straight

What a maintenance month this is turning out to be..

Landy MOT ( we call her the Poacher) and after towing 1.7 tonnes (assuming we weren’t overloaded) down to central France and back in March, without missing a beat. Well not quite – the two times I did get the tool kit out were when I shut the seatbelt in the door, ( had to remove door to get it out ) and fixing the squeal every time I let my foot off the clutch (turned out to be a loose alternator belt). Pleased to say she passed first time, nothing more than a couple of Bulbs, and a quick service.

Caravan service is not quite finished, and when I say “not quite” we have just had the axle repaired, the rubbers had perished on the suspension , but with the help of Fraser Brown, and his engineering company we are expecting it back today, repaired and uprated to 2,000kg ,fitted tomorrow, and in use on our Star Wars Weekend the day after. The caravan looks quite forlorn, and certainly unfit for purpose on its axle stands
